Getting Started

One of the strategies I use in treatment when things feel overwhelming is to help clients break things down into smaller pieces. The decision to start therapy is no exception.

First, take some time to look around my website and learn more about my approach to treatment and to get a sense about whether or not I would be a good fit to work with you.

I am an out of network provider, which means that I am not on any insurance panels and do not accept insurance directly. However, I do provide all the necessary paperwork for my clients to be reimbursed by their insurance providers. I know that for a lot of people the idea of going to an out of network provider might seem out of their budget at first, so I hope that it will be helpful to know that the majority of our clients submit their statements of service to their insurance providers and receive reimbursement. In my experience, my clients are generally reimbursed 60 to 80% of the costs of their sessions, so please consult with your insurance provider to determine your level of coverage.

When you're ready, contact me at 773-340-3663 or send me an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or use my website to contact me. You do not need to know your diagnosis or treatment goals to get in touch, as that is often a big part of our initial work together. All you need to know when you contact me is what is concerning or confusing in your life right now. I would be glad to provide a brief, initial phone consultation to address any questions that you might have.

Once some of your preliminary questions have been answered, you can schedule a date and time to meet with me in person for an intake session. Typically, an intake session last 50 to 60 minutes and gives us an opportunity to have a lengthier conversation together, so I can get a better sense of your concerns and you can get a better sense of what it would be like to work with me.

If you're a new client, please complete the applicable intake packet and bring it to your first session. We will discuss the information and policies included in the packet in detail during our first meeting together.
